About Navigation Rallies

With the optional Navigation Rally license, TackTracker is a complete solution for defining and running a Navigation Rally.  With TackTracker, running a Nav. Rally is no longer a labor intensive process requiring spotters to be stationed around the course.  Instead, scoring is totally automatic and results are available as soon as the GPS tracks are loaded.

With TackTracker, everyone can join in the rally, as spotters are not needed, and rallies are so much easier to run that they can be run more often.

Before the Rally, you can:

·     Quickly design and layout a course, using the Navigation Rally editor.
·     Create the checkpoints or scoring gates  - as many or as few as you need.
·     Define the start time and starting interval.

For the Rally itself:

·      Each competitor carries a GPS unit recording their times, positions and speeds around the course.

After the Rally:

·     Load in the data and TackTracker will automatically compute times and scores at each gate and provide total scores for each competitor.
·     The data may be copied and pasted into a spreadsheet.
·     The rally may be replayed on a big screen, for competitors to review their performance.
