You may also share tracks via TackTracker.com using TackTracker's Share facility:
To share tracks, load your track and click the Share button:
The following dialog appears:
When you click "Share":
· The current event and tracks are sent to the server at TackTracker.com
· Any tracks found on the server that match the current event but you don't already have,
are downloaded and added to your library.
· If you checked the box "Send me an email when new tracks are added for this event",
you will be automatically notified by email when other people share their tracks for this
event.
Tracks are held in a secure area, not available to unregistered users of http::www.tacktracker.com. Note, however, that you are
giving TackTracker full rights to
distribute or use the tracks you share.
To understand this better, here is an example scenario:
· Jim shares his track for last Saturday's race.
On sharing, Jim's event definition (race course and start time) and track are uploaded to
the server. His track will only be shared with other people who also hold share for the same event. A track matches the same event when it overlaps in both time and location.
If Jim did not define the course before sharing - his track is still uploaded, but no tracks
will be downloaded until someone shares their course definition.
· Lucy shares her track for last Saturday's race
Lucy's track is uploaded, and Jim's track is automatically downloaded and added to
Lucy's library. If Lucy has defined the course, her definition will overwrite the one Jim
supplied. If Lucy did not define the course, the one Jim defined will be downloaded for
her.
If Jim requested it, he will receive an email letting him know that Lucy has added a track.
· Jim gets an email letting him know that Lucy's track
All Jim has to do is Share again, and he will receive Lucy's track and any other tracks that
have been uploaded since he last shared.
