Race Recordings available for view

Race recordings for the 2010 NSW Etchells are available for viewing with TackTracker. Access requires a one off payment of $19 per race, or $49 for the entire regatta. To access the replays:

Download and install the TackTracker player (www.tacktracker.com/web/download
Start TackTracker, go to the Races Tab, look for “2010 NSW Etchell State Championships” and click the “Show Races” link.
Click the Buy this Regatta button and proceed to payment.

TackTracker draws a Crowd

Long days and late evenings gave us no opportunities to review the TackTracker replays on day 1 and 2.   But a late start on day 3 due to a lack of wind was a perfect chance to watch some replays. Geoff manned the controls, and an instant crowd formed.

People can view all races freely from this site (here) until Friday 5th of March.   So check them out!

Long Days at the Office

Friday and Saturday have been long days at sea, with the race course held well outside Sydney harbour heads. Friday Race 1 saw a very light breeze, which fortunately picked up for the second race late in the afternoon. Saturday conditions were idyllic, with three races sailed.

Securing your Tracker for the NSW Etchells

TackTracker is proud to track the 2010 NSW Etchells Regatta at Royal Sydney. Each yacht will be carrying a QStarz BT-Q1000X tracker (refer to NOR Section 18.6).

Competitors have three options:

1. Bring their own tracker
2. Buy a tracker. TackTracker is offering an attractive deal for these championships
3. Use one of ours. We will supply a limited number of trackers for use over the weekend. A deposit is required.

Tracey: - Did you study Bertrand's start tactics from the first few races to determine whether you would follow his start and course decisions or make your own 'path' to each mark ?
Bucky Smith: - We went home every night and studied inside out the TackTracker software for each race. We knew where every top boat was tending to start on the line, what they were doing on the first beats. We tried to decipher their on-water tactics and strategy from this. It was a great tool of which
we took full advantage.

Watch Races Online!

All 8 races from the Audi Etchells 2009 Worlds are now online. Congratulations Jason Muir and team for a great win, sailing an extremely consistent regatta with every race in the top ten. With predominately light winds, and a true course every day, this was a tactitions regatta, and there is a lot to be learnt from watching the replays.

Regatta races are available within TackTracker - you must first download and install the software. Individual races are $19 (AUD), or you may purchase access to the entire regatta for $59. To buy tracks, use the PayPal buttons in the Races tab inside TackTracker.

You can check the system out without paying anything by viewing the Invitation Race, which is available for free.
