TackTracker

Race replays are a great way to get inside the heads of the best sailors in your class.  Compare your speed and height against the race leaders and and find out the most important skills to work on.  Study tactics - you can see what the leaders do!

TackTracker now offers two options for viewing race replays:

Option 1: The new  in-browser web player with which you can play free-to-view races.

Option 2: The standalone player, which you must download and install.  The standalone player can be used to play both free-to-view and pay-to-view races.

Option 1: Watching Races with the Web Player

With TackTracker's new Web Player, all free-to-view races are now available for replay directly from your web browser.   Go to the TackTracker Online Races page or just click one of the regattas listed on the right.

The Web Player works on both Windows and Mac PCs.  It uses Microsoft's Silverlight 3.0 plug-in and you must install it if prompted.

Option 2: Watching Races with the TackTracker Standalone Player

The TackTracker standalone player offers additional analysis capability, and may be used to view pay-to-view races.   This player is a program which you must download and install on your Windows PC.   Detailed instructions follow:

1. Download and install TackTracker

This is a free download - you do not need a license to watch replays.   (Licenses are available to enable you to track your own races, and to publish races to the web.)  Follow the prompts to install the application.   If needed, additional installation instructions are available here.

2. Launch TackTracker and find your Regatta

1. Start the TackTracker player you just installed from the icon on your Desktop, or in your programs menu
2. The Races tab will list your regatta.  (You must be connected to the internet)

• Go to the Races tab in the TackTracker player and find your regatta
• Click "Show Races" to see the races in your regatta

 3. Pay with PayPal

Some races are free to view.  To watch: press the appropriate "View Race" button.

Other races require payment.  You can purchase individual races, or purchase the entire regatta worth of races.   If payment is required, the prices are displayed.  Click the link provided to bring up a web page containing PayPal buttons for each race.  Click the appropriate PayPal button to purchase.

Note: The Paypal buttons are accessed through the TackTracker player.  You can't navigate to them directly from this website. 

After you have completed your Payment, click the Refresh link at the top of the Races tab to see the View Race buttons.

Notes

• After purchasing rights to view, you can go back and view your race at any time, as many times as you wish.
• You must be online to view races.  Online races cannot be saved to your computer.
• Your viewing rights are associated with one computer only.
